Vintage 1980s Givenchy French Designer Puffed Gold Heart Couture Toggle Necklace
This piece is stunning, conversational, chic, not to mention it’s made by one of the world’s most famous designers, and the iconic, storied French brand…Givenchy, making it highly collectible!
Count Hubert James Marcel Taffin de Givenchy was a French fashion designer who founded the house of Givenchy in 1952 and, sadly, passed in 2018. He was famous for having designed much of the professional/personal wardrobe of Audrey Hepburn and clothing for Jacqueline Bouvier Kennedy. He was named to the International Best Dressed List Hall of Fame in 1970. Givenchy is a fashion house that epitomises grace throughout the 20th century and you could see such nods to perennial glamour in the meticulously placed, minimal seam work, and open bateau neck of the newlywed, Meghan, Duchess of Sussex’s wedding dress. Givenchy is also well-known for their fabulous accessories, both vintage and new, and you’d be delighted if you were to add this lovely piece of designer jewelry to your personal collection!
This is an amazing, heavy, chain-link necklace from Givenchy Paris in the 1980s. It’s a treasured piece and instant heirloom.
Note: The puffed heart pendant and toggle do have some tarnishing which vanishes completely when worn and adds to its charm.
