Castlecliff was founded in 1918 by Clifford Furst and Joesph Bobley. They began marketing their jewelry after a court battle with Brier MFG. Co. over design patents. One of their company slogans was “the talked about jewelry.” Castlecliff jewelry is very well made using excellent materials including rhinestones and faux gemstones (faux jade and turquoise) in heavy gold-tone settings. Egyptian revival themes are common in their later jewelry. Castlecliff jewelry wasn’t marked until 1941 though scholarship on this company is slightly contradictory. They produced their jewelry at least through the 1960’s. Records show they were in operation between 1918 – 1977.
